Origin, Aims and Scopes Of MGEF
Origin, Aims
The Mediterranean Green Energy Forum (MGEF) is a major international conference on Energy and sustainability for Mediterranean countries jointly organised by the HyRES Lab of the RMEI network and the LSIS with the support of LSIS Marseilles, France, and hosted by the University of Marrakech, Morocco.
The MGEF is supported by the Mediterranean Energy Network MERIE, the RMEI Network and related to SEB and WREC two international meetings of Renewable Energy. His main objective is research of efficient solutions to the environment and energy problems, specific to the Mediterranean Countries.
The first MGEF-13 was a combination of the annual KES Sustainability in Energy and Buildings conference and a regional meeting of the well-known regional World Renewable Energy Congress.
At no time in modern history has energy played a more crucial role in the development and well - being of nations than at present. The source and nature of energy, the security of supply and the equity of distribution, the environmental impact of its supply and utilization, are all crucial matters to be addressed by suppliers, consumers, governments, industry, academia, and financial institutions.
The MGEF addresses these issues in Med Countries through regular meetings and exhibitions, bringing together representatives of all those involved in the supply, distribution, consumption and development of energy sources which are benign, sustainable, accessible and economically viable.
MGEF invites participation and paper submissions across a broad range of renewable energy and sustainability-related topics relevant to the main theme of Sustainability in Energy and Buildings. Applicable areas include technology for renewable energy and sustainability in the built environment; also optimisation and modelling techniques, Information and Communication Technology usage, behaviour and practice, including applications.
Next MGEF
The next MGEF will be hosted by one of the following candidates::
Turkey (Istanbul),
France (Marseille)
Morocco (Oujda)
Egypt (Alexandria)
......... The steering committee will have to decide.
Brief History
The first Congress MGEF 13 (Mediterranean Green Energy Forum in 2013) was held in Fez by a group of researchers (French, Moroccan and English) following the proposal Nacer Kouider M'Sirdi professor at the University of Marseille (AMU) to organize an international, major conference in partnership with KES International WREN (the World Renewable Energy Network), the LSIS laboratory in Marseille, France, University Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah (including TSP and ENSA Fez) hosting the conference in Fez. http://mgef-13.sustainedenergy.org/organisation.php
This forum is supported and encouraged by the Mediterranean Network of Engineering Schools (MNES http://www.rmei.info/) in which there are partners as the vast majority of our state engineers international reputation schools. The MERIE Action Group (Mediterranean Efficient, Renewable Energies and Intelligent) is the main engine. In total 26 countries participate in MGEF 2013.

Never energy has played an important role in developing countries as much as today. The sources and nature of energy, power safety, equity distribution, waste, environmental impact, cost and ethics become very important issues for governments, distributors, consumers, industry, academia, researchers and financial institutions.
The MGEF-13 is a combination of the international conference SEB (Sustainability in Energy and Buildings) organized by KES each year in a different country and international meetings WREC (World Renewable Energy Congress). The multi-energy systems based on renewable energies require the integration of Information Technology and Communication (ICT). This is the central role of the current research. Research developed and promoted in Moroccan universities and academies continues to grow and is an important reservoir that is so involved in the solutions to the problems mentioned above. It is better able to reflect the country's problems related to energy and the needs of its inhabitants and urban developments.
Thus, we wanted to put in the center and engage Moroccan researchers and all countries of the world in the fields of sustainable development and renewable energy through energy recovery and economy.
This conference is the exchange and communication between researchers and those Moroccans around the world on all topics related to renewable energy, intelligent building and sustainable development field. The conference will explore innovative themes for Intelligent Building and Mediterranean cities (Smart Cities).

ENERGY GROUP: The "Energy" MNES Group started its activity within the MNES. The first meeting was held on 13 and 14 April at the workshops Michelangelo Civitavecchia. This meeting was an important step for the exchange of ideas on how to build common projects and to have effective action on energy in the MNES. This group is intended to provide a platform to facilitate effective interaction between members of MNES to promote renewable energy applications, to share their innovative and creative views and present their contributions. The activity of this group of applications Renewables is developing rapidly and has the contribution of all members of the MNES interested in ENR. To register and join this event, send an email to the coordinator of the group Nacer K. M'Sirdi (nacer.msirdi @ rmei.eu).
MedRE'Cup: The Mediterranean Network of Engineering Schools (MNES) is organizing the first edition MedRE'Cup in the Energy group. Mediterranean Renewable Energy Cup: "Challenges for the Promotion of Renewable Energy." This contest is open to students from various universities and engineering schools edges Mediterranean and aims to distinguish and reward the best innovative projects in the field of renewable energy. rmei.info/MedRECup1stCallFr.pdf
